THE END OF AN ERA
We’re not sure what to say except that a huge chapter in our lives is ending. It’s been almost 4 years, and we’ve made the best memories and met some amazing people along the way. Sorry to announce our departure so abruptly, just after many nights and long conversations we just decided it was for the better to finally retire The Bright Light Motion. We will all continue making...

Looking for a rhythm guitar player
Thank you to everyone who came out to Putnam Den on thursday, we had a blast performing with some awesome bands and hanging out with good friends. Mikey couldn’t make it so we had a special guest playing drums for us, our good old friend Mr.Dave Radloff. Dave hasn’t played with us in well over a year, so we decided it was agood night to have a few drinks and play a bunch of old songs...
Finally home after a long long drive, but it was well worth it. The day started out a little rough, but once got there we were treated well by an awesome staff and an awesome promoter Mr.Sean Mott (thanks so much man!) We played with some awesome bands today (Honor Bright,Greene Reveal,This Condiiton…just to name a few) and the cool people we met were so kind and shared some inspiring words...
On the late night drive home from bennington, Bill and i had an awesome discussion about what life was like when we were all just kids and forming our first bands and remembering the excitement of our first shows, and first recordings, and just how innocent we all were. Man, what a ride these last ten years have been for most of us. I just want to say this: No matter which of us will ever...
Let me just tell everyone how annoying it is every time someone retweets that stupid fake Back to the Future myth. As you all know (well, only whoever follows my tweets i guess) im a huge fan of that movie. Hell,i claim it as the best and most inspiring movie i have ever seen, and ive been watching it since i was 5 years old mind you. Everyones been sending me the quote below, and oddly enough,i can...
Great time in Cadyville,thank yooooooos
I seem to always be a day or two late on my thank you’s but it’s only because we had a long, late drive home last night. Thanks so much to our new friends Motion of the Ocean and The Tavi for allowing us to play tonight, and if you guys get a second please check out their bands and add them! We drove out and did an acoustic stint for what turned out to be one of the funnest basement...

July Shows and Happenings
July is probably going to be the funnest month for us and we seriously cannot wait. We’ve been playing weekend after weekend and sometimes during the week and on the weekends and show after show after show since April. It’s been crazy fun,and we have met so many awesome people that have encouraged us and made a lasting difference in our band, and for that we would like to say thanks...
This is pretty funny. About six months ago, indieonthemove.com asked me share a touring story with them, and they published it recently. Hahah

“For our summer 2009 tour, we bought a cheap $200 van from my neighbor that surprisingly held up,” says The Bright Light Motion. “We are a broke band, and couldn’t afford hotels nor were we offered any floors to sleep on after shows, so every...
Help us get a new Touring Van, even if you can... →
Hey Everyone,
The van we have been cruising around for the last year with is finally broken down for good. It’s not worth investing money into the kind of issues the van has, so we’re forced to by a new one. If you’ve seen our current van at a show, you know it has some character… Insane amounts of rust, holes in the bumper, no working lights, the Tranny makes it so you...
The summer is getting so exciting for us! This Saturday,June 12 we have the pleasure of performing with some old friends that we havent played with in over a year now, The Nightlife! We are playing at a small place in Scotia NY called Expresso Therapy Coffeehouse, but it’s going to be packed so get there early if you we’re planning on going. The show starts at 6pm,and we’re going...
Plattsburgh
We would just like to extend our thanks and gratitude again to everyone who came out to the show tonight and stayed, to the awesome bands that played, and to Ken and Gary at Coffee Camp for having us and treating us all kindly. We enjoyed hanging out in town and talking to some cool new people we met, and we were overjoyed that you all stuck around until the very end. If you didn’t get a...

Last night we had so much fun playing in Albany again, this time with Saving Atlantis,The Garden Variety, and Boyish Good Looks. All the bands were awesome dudes, and we felt really welcome among them. We also met some cool new people that became fans like Corey and Kara, and we’re surprised to see the familiar face of our friend Ashley, who became a great friend of ours after the Red Square show...
