This is pretty funny. About six months ago, indieonthemove.com asked me share a touring story with them, and they published it recently. Hahah

“For our summer 2009 tour, we bought a cheap $200 van from my neighbor that surprisingly held up,” says The Bright Light Motion. “We are a broke band, and couldn’t afford hotels nor were we offered any floors to sleep on after shows, so every single night we had a system where if you pushed everything to the left side of the van and stacked the equipment high as well as hid things in every nook and cranny, we made enough room for one person to lay in the back comfortably. One person could sleep on the only backseat we had, but had to either hang their legs off the seat or dangle their feet out the window while two others could sleep up front. Every night we rotated just to be fair. Also, we would look around for anything we could use to cover the windows. Pizza boxes, magazines, clothes, whatever we could use to block out the sun in the morning. And that’s how we slept all tour, ghetto as hell!”
